The Angelus (12 noon)

The angel of the Lord
brought tidings to Mary.
And she conceived by the Holy Spirit.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now,
and at the hour of our death. Amen

Behold, the handmaid of the Lord.
Be it unto to me according to your word.

Hail Mary…

And the Word was made flesh.
And dwelt among us.

Hail Mary...

Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy
of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray.
We beseech you, O Lord, pour your grace into our hearts that as we have known the Incarnation of your son by the message of an angel so by his cross + and passion we may be brought to the glory of his resurrection. Through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Order of Mass

NOTE: Singing will only take place if the Mass is celebrated outdoors. If indoors, then we omit the words indicated by [ ]

Gathering Hymn
[Sing we of the blessed Mother
Who received the angel’s word,
And obedient to his summons
Bore in love the infant Lord;
Sing we of the joys of Mary
At whose breast that child was fed
Who is Son of God eternal
And the everlasting Bread.

Sing we, too, of Mary’s sorrows,
Of the sword that pierced her through,
When beneath the cross of Jesus
She his weight of suffering knew,
Looked upon her Son and Saviour
Reigning high on Calvary's tree,
Saw the price of man's redemption
Paid to set the sinner free.

Sing again the joys of Mary
when she saw the risen Lord,
and in prayer with Christ’s apostles,
waited on his promised word;
from on high the blazing glory
of the Spirit’s presence came,
Heavenly breath of God’s own being,
manifest through wind and flame.

Sing the chiefest joy of Mary
when on earth her work was done,
and the Lord of all creation
brought her to his heavenly home;
Virgin Mother, Mary blessed,
raised on high and crowned with grace,
may your Son, the world’s redeemer,
grant us all to see his face.]

Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father,
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Grace and peace be with you.
And keep you in the love of Christ.

in the glory of God the Father. [R]

Opening Prayer
Let us pray.

God of mercies,
your only Son, while hanging n the cross,
appointed the Blessed Virgin Mary, his mother
to be our mother also.
Like her, under her loving care,
may your Church grow day by day,
rejoice in the holiness of its children,
and draw the peoples of the earth to your saving love.
We aks this through our Lord Jesus Crist, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever. Amen

accept these prayers
for the sake of your Son
our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

The Peace

The peace of the Lord be with you always.
And also with you.

The Presentation of the Bread and Wine (SIT)

[Alleluia! sing to Jesus!
His the sceptre, His the throne.
Alleluia! His the triumph,
His the victory alone.
Hark! the songs of peaceful Zion
thunder like a mighty flood.
Jesus out of every nation
has redeemed us by His blood.

Alleluia! not as orphans
are we left in sorrow now;
Alleluia! He is near us,
faith believes, nor questions how;
Though the cloud from sight received Him
when the forty days were o’er
Shall our hearts forget His promise,
“I am with you evermore”?

Alleluia! bread of angels,
Thou on earth our food, our stay;
Alleluia! here the sinful
flee to Thee from day to day:
Intercessor, Friend of sinners,
Earth’s Redeemer, plead for me,
Where the songs of all the sinless
sweep across the crystal sea.

Alleluia! King eternal,
Thee the Lord of lords we own;
Alleluia! born of Mary,
Earth Thy footstool, Heav’n Thy throne:
Thou within the veil hast entered,
robed in flesh our great High Priest;
Thou on earth both priest and victim
in the Eucharistic feast.]

Invitation to Prayer
Pray, my brothers and sisters...almighty Father.
May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands
for the praise and glory of his name,
for our good and the good of all his holy church.

The Prayer over the Gifts
At the end all say: Amen.

The Eucharistic Prayer (STAND)
The Lord be with you.
And also with you

Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God
It is right to give our thanks and praise

The priest continues with the Preface, until:

Holy, holy, holy, Lord,
God of power and might.
Heaven and earth are full of your glory
Hosanna [hosanna, hosanna] in the highest

Blessed is he who comes
in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna [hosanna, hosanna] in the highest!

(The Eucharistic Prayer continues until)

Let us proclaim the mystery of Faith:
Christ has died.
Christ is risen.
Christ will come in glory.

(The Eucharistic Prayer continues, until)

Through him, with him and in him,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
all glory and honour is yours,
almighty Father, forever and ever. Amen!

The Lord’s Prayer
At the Saviour's command,
and formed by divine teaching,
we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.
Breaking of Bread
We break this bread to share in the body of Christ.
Though we are many, we are one body
for we all share in one bread.

During the Breaking of Bread we say or sing:

Lamb of God you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
Lamb of God you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us
Lamb of God you take away the sins of the world, grant us your peace.
Invitation to Communion
Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
Happy are those who are called to his supper
Lord, I am not worthy to receive you,
but only say the word and I shall be healed.

The priest says 'The Body of Christ' at the altar and all who are receiving communion say 'Amen'. Communion will then be administered to you at your seat, whilst standing (if you are able)

Communion Hymn
[My soul is filled with joy
As I sing to God my Saviour:
He has looked upon his servant,
He has visited his people.

  And holy is his name
  Through all generations!
  Everlasting is his mercy
To the people he has chosen,
  And holy is his name.

I am lowly as a child,
But I know from this day forward
That my name will be remembered,
For all folk will call me blessed.

I proclaim the pow’r of God!
He does marvels for his servants:
Though he scatters the proud-hearted
And destroys the might of princes.

To the hungry he gives food,
Sends the rich away empty.
In his mercy he is mindful
Of the people he has chosen.

In his love he now fulfils
What he promised to our fathers,
I will praise the Lord, my saviour
Everlasting is his mercy.]

Prayer after Communion (STAND)
Give thanks to the Lord for he is gracious:
His love is everlasting.

At the end of the prayer after communion, all say: Amen.

[Final Hymn

Hail, holy Queen, enthroned above, O Maria
Mother of mercy and of Love! O Maria.

Triumph, all ye Cherubim, sing with us ye Seraphim,
heaven and earth resound the hymn:
Salve, salve, salve Regina!

Our life, our sweetness here below, O Maria!
Our hope in sorrow and in woe, O Maria!

To thee we cry, poor sons of Eve, O Maria!
To thee we sigh, we mourn, we grieve, O Maria!

This earth is but a vale of tears, O Maria!
A place of banishment and fears, O Maria!

Turn then most gracious Advocate, O Maria!
To us, thine eyes compassionate, O Maria!

When this our exile is complete, O Maria!
Show us thy Son, our Jesus sweet! O Maria!

O clement, gracious, Mother sweet, O Maria!
O Virgin Mary we entreat! O Maria!]
