Stations of Creation

Welcome!

These Stations of Creation invite you to stop and ponder upon the cross of Christ, his death and resurrection, and upon our own life with him in the world.  We reflect on Creation, and our responsibility to care for the world, and for all the gifts God has given us.

Each painted cross is placed somewhere in the gardens at St Mary’s Church and so, as you move from station to station, enjoy the beauty of God’s Creation, the sights and sounds and smells.  Marvel in God’s work, and in the wonder of your own being.

It may be that you are using these Stations in your own garden, or even just taking part at home or wherever you are.  Please feel free to share them with others or be inspired to create your own journey of prayer and reflection.

Prayer

Lord God, give me the grace to
see nothing else but you,
nothing but you in all created things;
never to be arrested by them,
never to see the natural or spiritual
beauty that is in them
as being born of themselves,
but only as being part of you.

(St Charles de Foucauld)

About the crosses

Each cross is decorated in Latin American style.  They have been created by Latin American Christians, each item fairly traded so that the workers and artists who produced them receive a fair wage.
